Steve Smith

Steve is a qualified PGA of Botswana and PGA of South Africa Class AA Golf Professional, as well as a Qualified Civil Engineer. He is a passionate golfer and represented Botswana Nationally as an Amateur multiple times prior to turning Professional. Steve is Managing Director of Bluetree World of Golf Botswana and his speciality lies in General Facility and Pro Shop Management, and especially launch monitor analysis and club fitting. Steve has attended several coaching conferences and CPD training courses with the PGA of South Africa and regularly attends the PGA Show in the USA to keep up with current trends and technology.

Paul Kilner

Paul is a qualified PGA Class A Golf Professional with the PGA of Botswana, and has 25 years of global experience in the golf industry. Paul played the Sunshine Tour early in his career and then moved into the coaching side of the industry. Paul trained under Tour Coach Simon Holmes and has worked with famous Tour Players such as Robert Karlsson of Sweden and Suzann Pettersen of Norway. He has lived and worked Denmark, Austria, Germany and now Botswana. Paul is Operations Director of Bluetree World of Golf Botswana and his speciality lies in working with Corporations on their golf strategies and events.

Mpho Kelosiwang

Mpho Kelosiwang is a qualified PGA of Botswana Class a Golf Professional and a member of the PGA of South Africa. He is has 6 years of teaching experience 10 years of golf administration experience and currently serve as a golf development consultant. In addition to PGA of South Africa Qualification, Mpho is Titleist Performance Institute Certified level 1 and Level 2 Junior coach. He has completed a certificate TPI level 1, he also has a certificate in Golf Psychology Coaching. An avid learner, Mpho has undergone training in delivering a revolutionary “GO GOLF” Coaching program, has done an online course on “Game Like Training” and is a Botswana Long Term Athlete Development Champion. He previously voluntarily coached the Botswana Golf National Team. He is currently the Head Coach of Excel Golf Academy, where his passion lies in Player Development, Junior and Elite Player Development.

Schoolboy Thekiso

Schoolboy is a PGA of Botswana class A Golf Professional and has 32 years experiencein the golf industry. Schoolie (as he is affectionately known) haspreviously been the manager golf at Phakalane Golf Resort, has played for the Botswana National Team and competed on the Sunshine Tour. He is actively involved in running Golf Tournaments and is well known by the Corporates in this regard. He specializes in the branding side of indoor and outdoor promotions for corporations. He also do golf lesson for children and adults.

Marius Meyaard

Marius is a qualified PGA of Botswana Class AAA / PGA of South Africa Class AAA Golf Professional. After 20 years in the retail world he left it to live out his dream in the golfing world. Marius has been involved at several golf clubs in South Africa and is currently the Golf Club Manager of Phakalane golf Hotel and Resort.Marius has hosted over a 100 golf days in his short career of which some notables are: Springbok Rugby Team Golf days, various Pro Am tournaments and two Professional Tournaments. Marius specialties lie in organizing of golf day and tournaments. He is daily available at Phakalane Golf Hotel and Resort for any questions.

James Samson

Lisane James Samson is a certified PGA of Botswana Class A Professional. James was born in Francistown and graduated from GIPS college as an Accounting Technician in 2010. He then competed his PGA Coaching Diploma in 2015. From 1999-2002 James represented Botswana at the Zone 6 International Golf Tournament, as well as in 2001 at the All Africa Team Golf Championships. He turned Professional in 2004 and has previously been a member of the Sunhine Tour.

Phenyo Lekgoa

PJ is a qualified PGA of Botswana Class A Golf Professional. He has represented Botswana on many occasions, including at the World Amateur Golf Tournament. PJ is passionate about coaching, and especially enjoys working with kids. He is a skilled in the area of custom fitting and club repairs. PJ enjoys learning new skills and believes being a Golf Coach has improved his life.

Trazinah Marudu

Trazinah is a qualified PGA of Botswana Class A Golf Professional and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology and MBA. She currently works as an HSEQ Manager at Puma Energy Botswana and also coaches after hours at Bluetree World of Golf. She has been playing golf since 1989 and possesses vast experience of working with amateur golfers. Her experience in golf coaching include rejuvenating Sowa Golf Club from 2-persons playing golf to at least 80, which included Junior Development. She has represented Botswana as an Amateur in various Continental and sub-Regional tournaments. Her highlights include winning a number of amateur tournaments which include Ladies Close and Independence Open‎:

Thapelo Pabalinga

Thapelo Fish Pabalinga is one of the founder members of the PGA, having turned professional in 2002 and played in the Sunshine Tour and Big Easy Tour for a couple of years. Prior to turning proffessional Thapelo represented Botswana Amateur team for over 10 years having first made the national colours at age 17 and was a member of the inaugural All Africa team in 2002. Thapelo’s passion lies in development and encouragement of the growth of golf in the countryand would love to see the game grow to grass roots levels where more kids can take the game up.

Walter

Walter is a Tour Member of the PGA of Botswana who practises and plays golf tournaments at every possible opportunity.

Walter won 5 Botswana Golf Union Amateur Championships between 2014-2016, and represented the Botswana National Amateur Golf team on 8 occasions from 2006 – 2015. His Special Achievement was participating in the Africa Green Jacket Tournament in Namibia (a tournament only for Southern African winners of their respective country Championship Divisions). He also won 5 club championships at his home course, Orapa Golf home club where he is involved with junior golf development.

Walter is a self-taught golfer who started out as caddie at 12 years old at Phikwe Golf Club, and thereafter rose up to become the top ranked amateur golfer in Botswana. Walter currently works for Debswana Diamond Company as a maintainer operator.

Stuart Smith

In 2008 Stuart worked at the Julian Krinsky Summer Campcoaching kids between the ages of 12 ? 17 and also did someSpecial Olympics Coaching.  In the same year he won theBotswana Amateur Open, he captained and played for theBotswana National Team in Zone V1 tournament in Zambia andwas selected for the Botswana Team to participate in theEisenhower trophy however the team did not manage to traveland participate.

In 2009 he represented Botswana in the Zone V1 championships in Zimbabwe as well as the All AfricaChampionships played in Egypt where he finished 6th overall.

In 2010 he represented and captained Botswana in the ZoneVl Championships in Botswana as well as playing theEisenhower Trophy in Argentina.

In 2011 he Captained andplayed for the Botswana National Team in the Zone VlChampionships in Kenya and was selected for the UniversitySport South Africa Inter-Provincial side. He representedBotswana in the All Africa Team Championships inJohannesburg and placed 2nd overall with a Silver Medal.From 2008 - 2010 he Completed as 3 year PGA Diploma at The GolfSchool Of Excellence Academy,Johannesburg.After a year inthe amateur ranks based at Royal Johannesburg & Kensingtongolf club, Stuart turned professional in December 2011 as an Botswana Affiliate Member for 2012.

PROFESSIONAL CAREER

For 2012 and 2013 seasons, Stuart played on the Sunshine and Big Easy tours as and Affiliate member, and finally madehis first 2 top 10 finishes in 2014 to gain exemption forthe 2015 season.

In 2016 and 2017 he had to return to Q school, and regainedhis playing privileges both times, coming 4th and 17th. Hiscourse record of 63 at Firethorn in 2017 still stands. The2017 season was his best stats wise, however, he lost hisplaying privileges again, and returned to Q school in March

2018. Unfortunately, sickenss that week destroyed hischances to regain his card for 2018, even though he playedon the whole week without retiring.He starts 2018 back as an Affiliate member,career earnings to date on Sunshine tour are R235 000.
